We invite adult parishioners who would like to volunteer their time to join St. Monica’s Soup to Serve Ministry. We make 60-75 bag lunches every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am-11am in the Peace Room kitchen. The lunches are then taken out to JC Orton’s home in Berkeley.
The Catholic Church has a long and proud history of feeding the less fortunate in our midst and She teaches that feeding the hungry is one of the seven Corporal Works of Mercy. All adults are welcome to attend, and no prior experience is necessary. The food used to feed the homeless is provided through the donation of local vendors and we have a fully equipped kitchen.
“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one”
