• Couples considering a Catholic marriage at St. Monica should contact the Parish Office at least six months prior to the proposed wedding date to arrange a personal meeting with Fr. Paul. Contact number 925-376-6900.

• If you are parishioners (registered and active members of St. Monica), Fr. Paul will walk you through the process regarding the necessary paperwork which must be completed before a date can be set with the church.

• If an exception is made for non-parishioners or family members of parishioners to be married at St. Monica, the couple must fulfill the necessary diocesan requirements for marriage.  The couple will need to work with their own pastor in order to be prepared. Different diocese (if you are not residing in the Diocese of Oakland) may have different requirements.  St. Monica should only receive documents when they have been completed by the respective priest or deacon who is doing the marriage preparation. Only on reception of these documents can a date be set.

• Weddings are held on Saturdays between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm.

• Music at a wedding must be religious, nonsecular and approved hymns. Music can only be performed by the parish's cantor and accompanist. 

• The throwing of rice, birdseed, or rose petals inside or outside the church is not permitted. No tape, staples, tacks, etc. may be used on the pews.
