The Liturgy Coordinator is a volunteer position that helps set up the church prior to mass. He/She typically arrives at the church 20-30 minutes before mass is scheduled to begin. Duties include unlocking the church, turning on microphones & lighting, ensuring lectors & cantors have arrived, setting up the eucharistic plates & cups, ensuring eucharistic minister positions will be filled and other set up duties as may be needed by the Pastoral Team. Liturgy Coordinators also read the Prayers of the Faithful during the mass and sometimes provide the opening announcement(s). Frequency of serving can be set up around an individuals’ availability & willingness to serve.
